HOT BUTTER BABY!

I put off buying this book despite what my friend kept telling me about it. After the first two chapters I was mad that I waited so long. Marlon Green put it down in this book! It's amazing how good writing and a good story can take you away. First of all, the drama is the best and it's so real. My mouth fell open time after time because of what Butter and Daren were going through. I kept saying Butter, why are you marrying this man, but she did it anyway. I couldn't believe it, but she acted like a lot of the women out here do. And I couldn't stand her husband. I could just strangle his behind. He thought he was the man but he just seemed insecure to me. And then there was Daren. He would be a woman's dream if his behind could just stick to one woman, lol. He made all the right moves with the wrong women, but I think that policeman put him in his place. Either the policeman or Libra, lol. The women that Daren met had so many issues, and it was wild how he just flowed and fit in with their programs. Oh, and don't let me forget about Raquel! I can't believe how she acted by jumping to conclusions. This book was so exciting! Marlon really developed the characters and told an excellent story and it's so vivid and real. This is the best I've read in the past three years. I'm now a fan of Marlon Green for life.

We Are Like BUTTER Baby

Imagine being in the perfect relationship with the man or woman of your dreams. The relationship ends due to one of you unwilling to commit. Your heart sinks as you realize your one true love gets away. You feel as though you have made the biggest mistake of your life and quite frankly you probably have. You want each other back but neither of you is willing to make the first move. You end up going your separate ways and life as you know it changes for the worst. BUTTER by Marlon Green is the story of Tamela and Daren, a couple that blends well together. In fact, they blend so well that Daren affectionately calls Tamela Butter because just like butter which goes well with everything from grits to popcorn to vegetables, Tamela goes well with Daren. Anything he wants to do from watching basketball to exercising or playing scrabble, Tamela is ready, willing and able with no complaints. Tamela, a single mother, wants to be in a committed relationship; however Daren is unwilling to commit. Although the relationship dissolves, the feelings never perish. Tamela begins dating Donald who ends up proposing to her. She graciously accepts the proposal even though she is still in love with Daren. Donald doesn't get along with her son and is emotionally abusive to her. She realizes her marriage was a mistake and longs to be in the arms of the love that got away. Daren, an elementary school teacher, has a different way of dealing with the separation. He opts to play the field in an effort to ease the pain of losing Butter. As much fun as living the single life is to Daren, he ends up in several life threatening situations where he has to reevaluate his choices. BUTTER is drama filled from the first chapter to the last. Climb aboard the roller coaster full of twists and turns as BUTTER takes you on an unforgettable ride. Marlon Green writes a page turning novel that you can't put down. Just like BUTTER goes well with everything, this book goes well with an avid reader. Reviewed by Eraina B. Tinnin of The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers

Drama for that ass!

for a debut novel, this book was off the hook! marlon green had me laughing from the jump. i was feeling the way all of the main characters' lives became intertwined to make the story concrete. "butter" was witty, thought prevoking, sexually charged, and it brought to the forefront a lot of relationship situations and issues that we all have confronted. Marlon Green definitley has a bright future as a writer. I look forward to reading more of his works.
