Hilarious!

My 3.5 year old daughter loves this book. She laughs and laughs when we read it. The humor is funny even for adults. I found myself laughing when I read it the first time. If you know anything about dogs, then the stories will ring true for you. Very cute. Fun to read over and over.

Dog-gone funny

This books is hilarious. Both my children (age 2 & 5) loved it and beg for it to be read again and again. It consists of three shorts chapters telling the story of Phoebe andBuster. Phoebe was the only dog in the house until Buster comes along and she takes advantage of his trusting puppy nature to get her paws on his bones. This includes offering her assistance to help him train his bones to stay. Since he is a puppy and his bones aren't very smart - they don't stay until Roger the dog owner is in the room watching so that Phoebe can't snag Buster's bones. The text is very good for an early reader, but it's not overly simplistic and choppy like many beginning reader books. It also has a wonderful message that is not condescending. The drawings are cleverly simply but with exceptional expression on the dogs' faces. I hope this becomes an on-going series of many Buster & Phoebe stories to come with the same charm and humor as this one. I did find one typo on the last page that the editors missed, hopefully once the book goes to paperback it will be corrected.
