When my plans for the future suddenly blew up on May 1, 2014, I was compelled to analyze my life's trajectory. I suddenly realized that if I continued along my current path, I wasn't going to arrive at my intended destination. This was when I embarked on what I refer to as my "spiritual journey".
Unlike many of today's available reading materials, this is not a self-help book. You are not expected to navigate life on your own. You have lots of resources that can help you to live a happier, more fruitful life. Consider what it would be like if you had a spiritual director in your life, to guide you toward the best course of action. Someone who provided you with a map and clear directions, so that even when your path becomes rocky and difficult to follow, you'll know the best route forward.
Written by a "Cradle Catholic", this book examines how reflecting on my past helped to redirect my future. Investigating my roots, rekindled my enthusiasm for the Catholic Church. The exploration of my mother Shirley's strong faith has enabled me to fortify my own spirituality, and ultimately strengthen my relationship with God. As Matthew Kelly said, "Remember: the greatest threat to your happiness and wholeness is your unrecognized spiritual needs."
