Horribly written, but great information

I purchased this book after attending one of the authors' seminars. My husband and I have both wanted to invest, but been very confused about the best way to do it. Additionally, we're both in school and living off of student loans, so our income doesn't allow us to invest large amounts of money. However, using the authors' common sense method of choosing companies in which to invest, and their excellent information about purchasing stock directly from companies, we have begun an investment plan that makes perfect sense for us. We now feel completely empowered financially, and the value of our stock portfolio has nearly doubled in the 9 months we've been using this technique. We couldn't be happier unless we were investing $100/month instead of $25. Yes, the book is HORRIBLY written, and the authors are in DIRE need of a decent editor, but if you can get past the terrible grammar and to the concepts and information they attempt to portray, I think that anyone on such a limited budget can invest on $25/month and begin to build a significant retirement account. (By the way, to see just how much you can earn in a lifetime of $25/month investments, do a Google search for Dave Ramsey's investment calculator.)

Best investment I ever made

As a single mother of 4 children, having entered the workforce for the first time at age 41, with almost $200,000 in student loan debt, I found this book to be a lifesaver. It walks you through the steps of researching good companies in which to invest, buying the stock certificates (one at a time, if that's all you can afford!) and the logistics of selling them. The best part is that it's in plain English. You don't have to have an MBA to understand it. There was no way I could ever have hired all the help I found in this little book.

Best Primer for the Novice Investor

I have read Bobbie's book and followed her advice. Over the last 2 1/2 years my investment portfolio has risen approx 20%. This books gives you the information you need to get started investing in stock. It is logical and easy to read. I feel part of the American dream. It will enhance my retirement. This is a must have for every new stock investor!!!!!

extremely practical

I found this book to be a practical handbook for the average person to take their future finances in their own hands and simply do something for themselves without long and tedious information or classroom situations. It is necessary for all people to be responsible for their financial future reguardless of their current status and this book is the one which walks it's talk.

Simply the best investment book yet!!!

This book really teaches you have to invest with a small amount of money. It explains how to do it in simple terms that can be understood by anyone and best of all it works.
