Know-it-all no longer

Although I only plan to build a large garage with granny flat over it this book was a great help. I tend to be a bit of a know-it-all and this book went way beyond what I thought I knew. I have found it to be very helpfull in about 100 ways beyoud just the simple construction of the structure. Regards, John V. Southern California.

Excellent guide for home building

This book has so much information in a very straight forward approach. Very easy to follow, step by step guide through the home building process. It felt like the author was sitting with me discussing my project.

all-encompassing must have book

I found this book to be extremely comprehensive and easy to read. The author did a great job on organization and flow and I would recommend this book to anyone intersted in building their own home, or even just purchasing a new build.

A great no-nonsense handbook

I wish I had this book when I built my house a few years back. Learning from trial and error is not the way to go when building a new home. This book give you the heads up on what to expect - both good and bad - when taking on the challenge of building your own home. I really enjoyed - and wish I knew when I built my house - the warnings and tips this book provides. If you just read the things to avoid, you will save the cost of this book many time over.

a great break for those new to construction

I am a former general contractor who has now been a building inspector for years and constantly advises those in the midst of construction projects. This is one of the best I have ever seen! a great way to get it done and avoid the pitfalls. A real must buy!
