This book is about using BOT contracts as one of the PPP approaches in the electricity infrastructure sector. The aim of this book is to understand how effective the use of BOT contracts in developing countries is, especially in Iraq as the case study. In fact, there are many PPP approaches as the contractual agreement between the public and private sectors for delivering public services into private products. Yet, there are many reports of the use of PPP that emerged 30 years ago which they lead to deliver public services under private business. These services are many and vary which the government seeks to meet and for the private sector who get involved to carry out these responsibilities. These responsibilities like sharing risks, involving skills and experiences, resources, management and then financing the project and finally operating/maintaining it. Therefore, the main goal for delivering infrastructure projects under BOT contracts is argued in which the private sector can run and deliver the public projects more sufficient where the government may miss many of its responsibilities and skills that the private sector could offer.
