When I was in AP English, in high school, my teacher told me to get this book and I'd be set. "This covers MLA and APA," she said. "MLA is the most widely-used, but you may need APA, too. There's also another guide, Turabian's, but that's just awful. We had to use it when I was in college and I hated it. Thankfully, no one uses it anymore."I had to buy Turabian's for my first paper in college.

I used this book for my undergrad courses & I am planning on using it for all of my graduate courses as well. Anyone who is planning on going into any field of medicine will need this book not only to comprehend APA format, but for any paper that you will need to write. The hints on how to set up your computer were a life saver.

Excellent classroom resource

I am the chairperson of the English Department of a private high school, and as a department we require our students to purchase a copy of this book. It has made teaching research assignments much easier, as well as giving teachers, across the curriculum, a standard by which to grade. It includes excellent examples of citations, especially for electronic resources. We encourage all students to keep this book as a collegiate handbook.
