Great to read aloud

I've read this book aloud to classes of fourth and fifth graders several times, and it always pleases. Children beg for the next chapter. It is a wonderful introduction to a Harlem Renaissance writer, and a great way for students to get a glimpse of a kid their age living in the very early 20th-century United States. It's warm, humorous and even a good beginner's social commentary.

bubber goes to heaven

I loved this book. I keeps you wondering, it has many exciting parts to it. As you are redaing the book you htink bubber has died. In actuality he was just having a vision. It makes you believe he is really there and this sory keeps your attantion throughout the entire story. I believe it's a good book for all ages, the ones who can read and comprehend.
