In the only randomized placebo-controlled study every done on the radical prostatectomy, radical surgery was no better than placebo. Reverend Walker seems to figure this out. Instead of being pushed into surgery by several urologists he undergoes the much less harmful treatment of radiation seed implants. Definitely read this book and note how much pressure was put on the reverend to undergo surgery, while other less harmful options were ignored. The reverend triumphs over his urologists.

This book chronicles more than one man's struggle with this dreadful disease. It provides spiritual hope for the masses of men who are having the same experience. It proves that I don't have to die SPIRITUALLY, SEXUALLY, EMOTIONALLY OR PHYSICALLY from prostate cancer! Thank you, Thomas L. Walker!!!!

Extraordinary presentation of a very complex subject

This book impressed me because it presents a layman's view of prostate cancer in a very personal manner. The statistics presented in the book are an education on the number of African American men stricken with the disease. Reading this book has given both my husband and me a new perspective on prostate cancer and generated an interest in doing what we can to educate others. I recommend the book highly for anyone who wants to learn about the disease, anyone who has the disease, and families of those stricken with the disease. Dr. Walker has presented a very complex subject in terms that anyone can understand. Bravo!!

I've never read a book dealing with such a critical subject yet readable and understandable and inclusive. Brother to Brother brings the whole family together in a concise understanding of Prostate cancer and other chronic diseases. Women should encourage the men in their lives, husbands, sons, fathers, uncles, etc. to read and understand the threat of prostate cancer to our families and communites.
