Alexander, Jr., a convicted felon on probation, murders a man during a burglary to secure a new ID. 18 months later Eva is diagnosed with terminal cancer and given a few months to live. When her attorney tells Alexander, he attempts to murder Peter who goes into hiding not knowing Eva's condition. Eva hires private investigator Dan Ballantine to find and bring Peter to her before Alexander kills him.
