Brood of the Witch-Queen

"Brood of the Witch-Queen" is a gripping masterpiece of occult horror and supernatural suspense. Set against a backdrop of ancient Egyptian mysticism and modern-day menace, the story follows the harrowing investigation of Dr. Bruce Cairn and his son, Robert, as they encounter the malevolent Antony Ferrara. Ferrara, a master of forbidden dark arts, seeks to unleash the terrifying power of the "Brood of the Witch-Queen," a legacy of sorcery dating back to the pharaohs.

This atmospheric novel weaves a tale of psychic vampires, ancient curses, and the thin veil between the living and the dead. As the Cairns track their elusive foe from the fog-laden streets of London to the sun-scorched sands of Egypt, they must confront horrors that defy rational explanation. Sax Rohmer delivers a narrative rich with vivid imagery and mounting tension, ensuring the work remains a definitive example of early twentieth-century gothic fiction.

By exploring the enduring fascination with Egyptology and the darker side of the occult, "Brood of the Witch-Queen" offers a compelling exploration of the battle between modern science and ancient, inexplicable evil. It is a foundational work for readers interested in the history of the supernatural thriller genre.

Who is Antony Ferrara?

Get ready for a great read. Sax Rohmer makes the unnatural and supernatural too natural. As we try to discover who Antony Ferrara is before his unique talents dispatch us. The Book is like a Hollywood Cliffhanger. Just as soon as we have Antony boxed in literally and figuratively, he escapes to create more havoc. Fantastical, magical beings and evils appear everywhere. However, are they imagination or a form of hypnosis? No, they are real, and if you look up the books and other materials in this story, you will realize that Sax Rohmer is writing about places he has been and books he has read, not fantasies. He writes so well that you feel that you are there, or at least watching a movie. Speaking of movies, how did this one get away? The story ends too soon and very abruptly.
