Good story

An enjoyable read. Probably more suited for women but I did enjoy the story. One of the several "twists" at the end seemed unrealistic but that is expected in novels these days.

Gripping, you won’t put it down!

This one appeals to all types of readers and evokes human emotions at their highest level. It’s incredibly well written and has twists you never see coming.

BROKEN COUNTRY by Clare Leslie Hall I went into this blind and with low expectations as I haven’t liked many celeb book club picks, but I was hooked by the first chapter. I’m not a romance reader, but I do love a good mystery and suspense —this book is all three. I love deeply flawed and morally ambiguous characters. It makes them all the more believable, relatable, and human. I consider it a good thing when I’m conflicted about who I should be rooting for. Beth is selfish and self-serving, but her grief and actions after losing Bobby was understandable. That part of the book was written so well! My heart shattered along with hers. And poor Frank truly deserved better. Overall, an engaging and emotional roller coaster of a read. Yet also a little predictable and somewhat melodramatic. Recommend for the drama, but check trigger warnings. Rating: 3.75/5 ⭐️
