As a sixteen year old boy Jason Varson has a lot to face. Broken by beatings from his father he is placed in a foster home at the age of thirteen. The foster home, however turns out to be a worse situation. He is moved to the home of Dustin and Nicky Davis. Here he learns for the first time, what it is to have a family. He finally feels loved, but all that changes when Dustin announces a move. Jason is horrified when he discovers they are moving to the town where he grew up. As the time draws near to move Jason learns that his father is getting out of prison. Does this have something to do with the move? Fearing his father will come after him Jason pulls into himself and wont talk to his family. Fear once again takes over his life as he is forced to face a past he would rather forget. It worsens as he comes in contact with members of his old family. Though others try to tell him that they have changed he will not believe them. Will he learn to trust the ones who love him before it is to late? Will he learn to get help from the only ones who can help him, though they be the ones who have hurt him in the past? Can people change? And can someone with his past find healing and love and a family?
