Volume XXXI Sofia - statics. The largest pre-revolutionary Russian universal encyclopedia of the issued share publishing company "F. Brockhaus - Efron IA ". It consists of 86 volumes (82 basic and 4 additional), walks over 1890-1907 period. The first 8 volumes (to the letter "B") were published under the general editorship of Professor IE St. Andrew and mostly include a translation into Russian articles famous German Brockhaus encyclopedia Konversations Lexikon. After the death of Andrew's new edition, headed by K. Arseniev and FF Petrushevski significantly increased the number of original articles and attracted to cooperate with a wide range of public and political figures liberal (by Miliukov, VI Guerrier, NI Kareeva to legal Marxists Struve and Tugan-Baranowski, a branch of philosophy led the largest Russian religious philosopher Vl.
