This book is the product of academic research carried out at King's College London under the guidance of leading experts in the War Studies Department. It also draws on my own fifteen years of experience serving as a counter-terrorism informant, first for an Italian agency and then in the UK. Over that span, I've encountered a range of attitudes-from outright racism to genuine cooperation guided by the hope of making society safer for everyone.
