Lace up your hiking boots and trek the 72-kilometre West Coast Trail. Or hop on a helicopter and soar over the spectacular slopes of Garibaldi Provincial Park. British Columbia highlights some of the province's most isolated and exciting locations. Photographers have captured the thrill of whitewater rafting down the Thompson River and the serenity of kayaking through the Queen Charlotte Islands. From scenic Victoria to the barren expanse of Chilcotin cattle ranches, this is a stunning look at the province's diverse landscapes.
This book does a very good job of capturing the diverse landscapes of BC. It's a coffee-table picture book, and the only writing within it is the captions for the 70 photos, so it only takes about an hour to get through the whole book. Most of the pictures are amazing, but a few are below par. The captions are informative, but it would have been very helpful if a small map would have been included with each picture/caption to show where the picture was taken. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone's coffee-table collection. The only problem is that the price is fairly high considering how short the book is, which is what's preventing me from buying the other books in this series by Whitecap Books.
