Expanded, revised and up-to-date second edition of this much sought-after book on high blood triglycerides. Some of the most important insights you can learn from this comprehensive source of... This description may be from another edition of this product.
After that scary visit to the doctor when my triglycerides were 483 and my HDL was only 22, it was time to get serious. My doctor recommended Niaspan which may work for some people but even with the low dosage 500 mg's, I did not like the side effects. After an internet search, I came upon Andrew Mierzejewski's book `Bringing your triglycerides down naturally' and gave it a try. In March 2008 after 4 months, working out twice per week and following the prescribed eating habits - for the most part, my HDL is 28, total cholesterol down 40 points and triglycerides of 118 - awesome results. My doctor was shocked. The book explains in layman's terms what happens when we eat a ton of carbs and the wrong kinds of vegetables and fruits. I still drink a cup of coffee daily and have a burger now and then. The book actually says it is helpful to take a break now and then - within reason. I have now ordered 4 books and gave them to friends. I highly recommend this book for at a minimum to learn how certain foods affect our metabolism.

One day my doctor called me with the results of a routine blood test. "You are a walking time bomb," he said. "I am calling in a prescription for Crestor. Go get it and take one right now." I did what he said, but I have never been one to take prescription drugs, especially those with side effects. I took only ten pills. I was so happy to find "Bring Your Triglycerides Down Naturally." I read the book. I began walking (fast) 60 min. every day. I changed my diet completely. I used this book as a guideline to form my new eating habits and meal plans, and change my nutritional supplements. My routine lab results were: Triglycerides: 558 Cholesterol: 257 HDL: unable to measure LDL: unable to measure Weight: 153 Three months later: Triglycerides: 88 Cholesterol: 143 HDL: 63 LDL: 67 Weight: 137 When I started reading the book I was a bit skeptical. Now, I will follow this program for the rest of my life. I'm surprised to say that...
Received Comments On the Book

June 11, 2007 Good Morning Mr. Mierzejewski: I just received your book that I had purchased a week ago or so! I am already writing to you because I was impressed by your use of the word "psychosclerosis" in conjunction with health. Indeed, that is what I usually see in people when I discuss anything "natural" with them. I am not in the medical profession, but a close observer and practicing most natural treatments - without much medication involved. I already love your book! Thanks for sharing it with us. You are paving the road for the new approach to health. Most people have forgotten that medication is often a poison helping them temporarily but not permanently! The significance of reducing the sugar and/or any "white stuff" is very important for our health on the cellular level but it is still quite ignored by medical "authorities." I was a victim of it and I have to take back my life from the sugar-consumptive society that we live in today. I am trying to overcome my "psychosclerosis" issue too! Nonetheless, it is good to have you on our side to help ourselves balance our health once more! Thank you for helping us! :-) Best regards, Monique N.-S. New York
