Spencer soon realizes that finding the ring that was entrusted to his safekeeping has now led him into the very center of a dark plot to destroy everything and everyone on Brier Island. Drawing strength from words of wisdom previously spoken from his deceased father and counseled daily by his elderly neighbor, the boy attempts to rise above the dire circumstances placed on him and stand up for what he truly believes in---justice.
