Modern-day slavery or human trafficking has attracted much attention from around the world in the past few decades and engendered significant growth in counter-trafficking interventions as well as empirical research on related prevalence estimation and program evaluation. However, significant gaps remain in our knowledge on how to address the crime. Understanding these gaps is essential in informing research, policy, and general response protocols.
