The bridge had always been there, a quiet sentinel over the creek, its weathered planks and sagging rails blending into the landscape like a forgotten relic. By day, it was nothing more than a shortcut, a place where kids dared each other to cross and farmers muttered about its disrepair. But at night, it transformed. Noah Reyes had heard the stories. He'd laughed at them, dismissed them as the kind of nonsense small towns clung to when there was nothing else to talk about.
