"He isn't a bad guy . . . he just doesn't love God." What do you do when you follow after God but your boyfriend doesn't? You may be crazy in love with him, but there's that nagging feeling that the relationship isn't right. Written by a mentor who has "been there and done that," this timely tool coaches teenage girls through relationship breakups, helps them cope with the resulting grief and guilt, and teaches them to grow as a child of God.
First of all I really liked the title and sub-title! From the very first sentence, I fell in love with Stina Wilson's writing style. She has an incredible gift of being able to "tell it how it is" while expressing some profound truths. The first thing that struck me was that she chose to use multiple versions of the Bible for scripture references. Often when we use just one translation, the awe and the full meaning gets lost. This book could help in any unhealthy relationship, not only with a boyfriend but also with friends and even family. It's a really good resource for a young woman whose identity is measured by her appearance, abilities, accomplishments or the opinions of the people around her. The author is not scared of looking fallible or weak, which made her more real to me. The way she used her own life to illustrate points was powerful. She uses incredible analogies. I won't ruin it for you, but the wedding to Christ scene made me cry. If you want to know why...Well, pick it up!! I read this the same day I received it, it's that good. I'm looking forward to more books from this author!
for all of you single and searching......

I'm a 32 year old doctor. Never married, single, and still searching for that special someone. Recently I was faced with the dilemma of whether or not to spend the rest of my life with my boyfriend who simply did not share my faith. This book was the only one out there that specifically addressed this issue. The author talks about her struggle- how hard it was to break up, how long it took, and how prone she (and we) are to repeating our mistakes. Her writing is honest, tangible, and definitely not preachy. She referenced many texts from the Bible which told me exactly what I needed to hear. She also seemed like a normal down to earth person and I really related to her. I am still single and still have days that I struggle with my doubts, fears, and sadness. But the book has helped solidify my faith and belief in doing the right thing, even if you feel like its too costly at the moment. I feel like this is a book every single christian woman should read. But, if you've ever struggled with the issue of dating someone who doesn't share your faith, you simply must read this book. It will help steer you in the right direction.

Written with intregity and honesty. I am 64 years old and I wish something this honest had been available to me years ago. I read it thinking of my granddaughters...could I give it to them? Absolutely!! It is evident the author is devoted to Christ and willing to make the hard choices to keep Him first in her life. Her dedication to Jesus and sharing that with young women everywhere is evident in this book. I highly recommend this book!! Marilyn Jeffers
A challenge to my faith!

This book is not just for the single female looking for love. I am a 42 year old woman who has been married for 21 years and this book was for me as well. It's not just about breaking up; it's about challenging your faith by asking if you've put God first and foremost in your life, and if so, do you trust that what He has is better for you than what you want for yourself? Every concept in this book is backed up with scripture after scripture to give validity to each and every thought. I personally have been challenged by this book and am now passing it on to my 15 year old daughter and 17 year old niece. My prayer is that they can discover and embrace Christ as their first and true love and find their faith to be as real to them as Stina's faith is to her.
