Breaking the Corporate Paradigm in the Military: Using a Military Innovative Approach to Enhance Enterprise Behavior Within the Services

This paper argues that concepts and constructs derived from military innovation theories can be used to enhance enterprise behavior within the military. As more challenges to national security occur, both operational and enterprise capabilities need to be improved. Military innovation theory can serve as a model and link for operational and enterprise components of military organizations. A single case study of a military program created to improve the military enterprise is explored using six theoretical propositions obtained from military innovation constructs were used to determine if there was a link with patterns observed in the case study. The study concludes that in several ways military innovation theories explain how military organizations improve their enterprise behavior.
