Good enough, but missing some key things—needed better editing

Great for just getting going out the gate with tasty bread (well, if you have a Dutch oven) The recipes are delicious, and there are some great photos of how to knead/shape etc. And she takes you from simplest to more complex very nicely. There are however some real reasons it isn’t a 5 star book. Most of the baking directions are copied and pasted. She wants you to do all loaves in a Dutch overnight and gives NO alternative directions ANYWHERE in the entire book. So buy a Dutch oven. Oh and you’ll need two round ones and two big casserole sized ones because Even when you go from baking round loaves to a big batard she just says put it in a Dutch oven. The two loaf recipes want you to wait and cook them separately, which would mean another 45 min of proofing for the second loaf. You won’t find this in the book, but if you watch GBBO, you’ll know you really do t want to overproof) She does explain how to do baguettes, and flat breads but I’m not clear how to translate this to her loaves. Again, it has all been delicious, but I think just 4 more pages of information would have really made this a fabulous cookbook.

My partner loves it!!!!!

I recently gifted this to my partner since she has started learning/experimenting to bake :-) And she absolutely love this book. According to her, it’s a must have for all new bakers. It’s simple, teaches you the basics, how to measure right quantities etc.
