There are millions of American Christians whose views on U.S. immigration policy differ sharply from the expansionist policies currently advocated by most church organizations, and particularly by... This description may be from another edition of this product.
A must read for any Christian concerned about today's immigration crisis. Compact and easy to read, the book explains how the Christian Church had to break faith with its traditional doctrines and customs in order to jump on the mass immigration bandwagon. Traditionally, Christians respected national integrity and cultural unity. Many modern churches took a wrong turn and Dr. Russell tells us exactly where and how. There's plenty of blame to go around, and the author doles it out generously to whomever has it coming. Among his targets are misguided Protestants who misread the Bible to invent a pro-immigration "social gospel" and Vatican II Catholics who aid and abet the blatantly illegal "sanctuary" movement. Clearly written, carefully reasoned and well-researched, the book is a testament to the author's scholarship. It will be a prized addition to many a conservative's bookshelf. Highly recommended.
faithless fiduciaries

Jim Russell's book proves what is known anecdotally about the subversive actions of Christian sects in facilitating and promoting illegal immigration into the United States. That churches would be involved both in such blatant law-breaking is bad enough, but the negative effects that the immigration invasion is having on natives raises the question of whose interests are served and why. Russell doesn't speculate however, he identifies the facts and amply explores and proves connections that add up to a well-titled "Breach of Faith" on the part of the American clergy and church bureaucrats. Well done!
American churches and the immigration crisis

Illegal aliens by their sheer numbers are bankrupting our schools, hospitals, and local governments while, from their lofty pulpits, out-of-touch liberal churchmen refer to them sympathetically as "so-called illegal aliens"-and then look for our tithe. Dr. Russell thoroughly documents the radicalization of Catholic and Protestant churches over the past century that is driving their current expansionist immigration policies. Radical church officials are shepherding the faithful away from religious worship and toward a liberal social activism that is undermining the social and economic fabric of America. Read James C. Russell's Breach of Faith. His book could not be timelier. The American Catholic bishops have just launched a new campaign "to change the country's immigration system, saying they would reach into the pews to build support for proposals that would grant residence to millions of people here illegally." This book is an exception study for both the experienced and novice reader on the interconnected subjects of American immigration and the changing nature of the Catholic Church. Mr. Russell uses both up to date and lesser known sources to create an effective timeline for his theses. I recommend this work for anyone interested in two of the most pressing isssues in contemporary American society.
