Help for grieving children

Brave Bart is the story of a little black cat adjusting to his symptoms of grief/trauma with no clear identification of exactly what happened to him. He expresses his fear, stomachaches,nervous tendencies to go to school or to be away from his Caregivers until he finds a listening cat who is actually a therapist, who helps him individually and introduces him to a support group. He learns what he is feeling is okay and that he is not alone. I have used this book for years in grief support groups with elementary age children and it is a wonderful way for children to identify and share their feelings and know there is help available.
