Good advice - well-written and thoroughly researched

Honestly I can't usually make it through self-help books, but Shannon Bradford has an unusually clear and crisp writing style that is simply refreshing. Although written in 2003, the advice is still timely and thought provoking. If anything, the current economic downturn requires more adept application of the cognitive and communication skills explored in this book.
Solid Information, easy to read

As much as some authors try to give their book a 'must read' flavour by over-hyping the amount of change, the impact of the new-economy (yawn...) and creating a general feeling of un-ease with the environment, Shannon B's foray into such expressions in short lived and generally contained in the intro. The remainder of the book is solid 'guiding principles' book that contains some great chapters and some very solid advice for ensuring that 'business communication and cognition' is improved. The book is applicable at more levels than that though - as a book of 'wisdom' in the tradition of 7 habits it applicable to almost anything. If only we could all work somewhere where everyone applied the princples here.
