Over a two year period I am subjected to five court cases resulting in two consecutive injunction orders, awarded huge council costs and thousands of pounds in fines, eventually I am on trial for committal to prison. My crime? Advertising my cafe on an A board at the end of a quiet side street. Yet in these troubled times of global recession, unemployment and County Council cut backs, small businesses such as mine are struggling to survive. We would expect local government support but in my case instead of help I fall victim to an unscrupulous County Council employee his job title 'Licensing and Enforcement Manager' for East Sussex Highways. I stand up to this bully and when he realises that he has taken on much more than he anticipated, he commandeers other members of staff to join his crusade and uses tax payer's money to fund his obsession in his determination to wreck my business.
