May 5th, 2004, Boy with a Pipe, a masterpiece by Pablo Picasso sold at Sotheby's in New York for $104m ( 58m), becoming, at that time, the world's most expensive painting. The painting was sold to an anonymous bidder represented by an offshore bank on Cyprus.

September 10th, 2017, Hurricane Irma lashed Florida's east coast. In the aftermath of the Category 5 storm, a security guard's body was found, brutally murdered, and a break-in was reported in a posh condominium apartment. Listed in the missing items, along with valuable jewelry was an oil painting reproduction of Pablo Picasso's the Boy with a Pipe.
