Great and sometimes Disturbing Novel

This book was such a great read. I know a couple of people who based their PhDs on this, and it's a quite popular novel in France. Most of my friends back home have read it, and enjoyed it. It's a little disturbing at times. It gives you a rather dark view of the French Urban setting, but the atmosphere is right on point. Suburban areas in big cities in France can be very gloomy, and this novel depicts these settings really well. You need a very high level of French in order to read this book. Some words can be very hard to understand for people who do not have a knowledge of French vernacular. However, it is a brilliant book. I really enjoyed it, and would recommend it to anyone interested in alternative life styles in France.
