Ebony Shawls is not happy about having to downgrade to a dirty little project apartment after having what she's always wanted all of her life. Unfortunately Ebony's mother Linda is divorcing her abusive husband Donald who is an successful lawyer so Linda and Ebony is forced to leave with nothing. Ebony still lives as if she got it all and feels that she's just too good to live in such a place. The neighborhood is dirty and the people looks just as dirty. After a girl named Meme tried to kick dirt on Ebony's shoes, Ebony seeks revenge by hanging out with Meme's boyfriend Tre. Even though Ebony did not like Tre because he has dirty shoes, old clothes, and badly in need of a haircut; she was determined to make Meme madder and madder. Tre really likes Ebony though; he couldn't believe such a girl like her would even peek in his direction. He quickly jumped at the opportunity to get close to her even after he realized that Ebony was only using him.
