I've always been fascinated by the concept of time travel. I like to write and my stories end up in this theme time and time again. I was in 8th grade when I saw this book in a school catalog and read its description. When I got the book, I started reading and could NOT put it down! Even 6 years later it still holds my admiration. It's one of my very favorite books still out of the many I have read, and I read every night. A 300 page book takes me 3-4 days!Annie is a high school girl with a handsome but unfortunately unromantic, car-obsessed boyfriend. He lives at the soon to be demolished, now apartmented, Stratton Mansion. Annie dreams of the days when the mansion was at its peak and of the romance that must have occurred there. Suddenly she finds herself flung 100 years into the past in a real-life true romance, the rival of rich but plain, love-stricken Harriet who pines for the same man as Annie. What Annie didn't bargain for was a murder mystery and a plot against the entire Stratton family by several wicked characters, working together and separately for their own selfish goals and twisted motives. It's a race against time to save herself, her true love and those around him.I recommend Both Sides of Time, and its companion Out of Time to anyone with a heart for romance and a desire to live in times long past. The characters will surprise you and will make you think twice about human nature, you might even find pity for those you hate and unexpected sympathy. Your heart will be in your throat to the very end.

Both Sides of Time Caroline B. Cooney Annie Lockwood is a hopeless romantic in a year (1995) where romance doesn't mean much. She always thought that she'd find true love if she lived in the 1800's, and not the 1900's. As Annie goes into an old mansion to see her non- romantic boyfriend,Sean, she gets a strange falling sensation. Thinking that it was just drowsiness from the sun, she wakes up to find her self in a fully furnished mansion, and a loud banging noise in the background. To her surprise and delight, she she was falling back in time, to the 1850's being charmed by a young Strat, the son of the owner of the mansion, along with other lively and mysterious characters. But,the tide turns when Annie, or Anna Sophia as she is called, is thought to be a murderer and must chose between her family and Strat. This was an exciting and unpredictable book. You'll start reading it for it's charm and story, and you'll finish it for the lingering mystery unraveled.

Going Back In Time

The novel BOTH SIDES OF TIME is a story about a girl with mixed feelings about love. Annie Lockwood thinks she is in love with her boyfriend Sean. When she discovers that she got sent back in time to the year 1895 instead of being in the year 1995 she finds that she loves someone else besides her boyfriend from the 1990's. It all starts when she was exploring an old house and when she steps into the ballroom, her, her clothes, the people, and the house she was in had all changed. It turns out some sort of time warp has moved her back in time 100 years, but she was still in the same house. In the next few days she becomes frineds with the family that lives there, and soon realizes that she was in love with the 17 year old son Strat. She spends a lot of time him and she doesnt want to go home. She knew this would change the future so she had to return home. When she got back to 1995 she was still very upset. She knew she could not live without Strat, so she went back to 1895. When she got there she noticed that another woman was in love with him and they were the ones that were meant to be. Though Strat and Annie were still deeply in love they seperated for life, and Annie went home. This is a wonderful book filled with excitment and romance. I recomend this book to everyone and I think you are really missing out if you do not read it.

An Interesting Book

I though that this was a very interesting book! I first started reading it when I was at outdoor school! So in the beginning my mind was sort of on other things, but it caught my attention quickly! AT first I didn't understand it! Then it amazed my how interesting it was and how well written! Carolin B. Cooney did another great book, and I recommend the whole serries to anyone with the imagination and interest!

A wonderful story!

Have you ever thought of going back in time? Well in this book, Both Sides Of Time, a girl named Annie Lockwood does. She travels back to 1895. There she falls in love with a handsome, nice, polite, and wealthy gentleman named Strat. Strat loves her too but their love hurts many people around them. I loved this book. I could realate to the characters and I could picture each scene in my mind very vividly. It was a murder mystery, love story, a time fantasy, and it displayed relationships in two centuries. In fact, I liked this book so much that I bought both of the other books in the series! This book was mysterious and intriguing. I really liked that. I admit that the first couple of pages threw me off. I didn't get what was going on and I was worried that the whole book would be like that. But I did catch the drift about what was going on after a few pages. After that I couldn't put the book down. At the end I was just left hanging. I wanted more of the book. So I was glad when I went to the store and saw the other books. If you like love stories and mysteries you will like this book. I know I did.
