An Exciting Book for Kids

The characters are Anne, Mrs Murray, Petra, Shelley and Denise. The book is about Denise bossing people around in the in the pool and saying that only her friends can swim in the pool. But Shelly is so mean she will drown the people who get in her way. Petra and Denise battle it out with Shelly and Anne in this exciting, adventurous book. The reasons I liked it are: 1. It was funny at the end when Shelly fell in the pool. 2. There are some facts about drowning. 3. The people in the story were a little bit weird in the beginning. (Review by Brendon)

Boss of the Pool

Shelley, who thinks the world should revolve around her, is upset when her mom takes a job over school break at a home for mentally and physically handicapped children. In this wonderful story, Shelley teaches a boy with Down syndrome how to swim. Shelley finds herself, and is enlightened by what a great person her mom is. Shelley and Ben form a wonderful friendship and he learns to swim. The story is wonderful and the main character, Shelley, goes through a great change.
