John Callan has big dreams beyond his working class New Jersey roots. Under the mentorship of a world renowned historian, he expects to live a comfortable life as a college professor. In a narrative alternating between the years just before the war and the heady days of the Normandy Campaign, Borrowed Brass is a tragic coming of age tale set in the heart of the sweeping drama of World War Two. It is a story of love, devotion, regret, and above all else, dreams realized and abandoned.
