A delightful, literate, well-plotted book with great people

This is a quite different type of mystery--cerebral, fun with a great cast of characters and well-plotted. Delia Ross-Merlani is a protagonist I'd sure like to see again, and the problem with how to get an amateur involved in the investigation of a murder is deftly handled. Lady Delia is a linguist and citizen of the world and the book is peppered with phrases in Italian, French, Hebrew, you-name-it, but it's fun, not irritating. The mystery itself is intriguing, original, and has some nice twists. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and pray the author gives us another one.
