Must Read for ALL Latter-Day Saints!

The book was an intensely candid look at the roots and products of LDS doctrine. Where did that doctrine come from? What does it do in the lives of believing Latter-Day Saints? Shawn McCraney answers all the questions you ever had about the LDS belief system, while supplying a good dose of non-judgmental history of the church to back up his claims. If you're LDS, not a member but are learning about the church, or just looking into Christianity as a whole, McCraney's book is a good read for you.

Great book, well worth the $$, opens eyes to the truth.

This is a must read for anyone who is involved in the LDS religion or looking into joining it. Shawn McCraney is a mormon turned Christian, who has spent his adult life researching and sharing the truth.

This book is a must read if you've ever wondered...is there something more? Several months ago, I was given a copy of this book, which I devoured. I could not put it down. It spoke to the deepest parts of my soul - the "never talked-about" empty parts. Long story short, after finding Jesus Christ and coming out of mormonism, I now know what true freedom is. I realize what a long healing process this is going to be...and very painful, but I am in love with my savior and am longing for the journey ahead off me in Him. I pray for my LDS brothers and sisters that they will seek TRUTH. This is not about "faith-promoting" or "anti-mormon" - it is about TRUTH. After reading Shawn's book, I began watching the archive TV programs on the BornAgainMormon website. WOW! I've researched for myself the LDS history and doctrines I was never told. Now that I am free to research and read from any sites/publications I want, ironically, most of my search has been in LDS publications and sites, which verifies what Shawn has said. What an amazing, powerful, truth-seeking journey I am on. Praise the Lord!

Shawn WAS a born again mormon

As the title of the book states, Shawn was a born again mormon, but no longer is, he left the church and is a Christian. The title has to do with the 4 years of his life where he had become born again, but still attended the LDS church. Shawn's book doesn't try to sync Christianity with Mormonism, it teaches a particular type of people to have a relationship with Christ. I thank Shawn for writing this. There are plenty of mormons who feel the same way as Shawn did. I was one. WAS.

LDS must read

The author captured so many thoughts that seemed to be my own. As a person who grew up in the LDS church, I could relate to almost every emotion and event that he describes. Finding God does not mean you must be in a relgion.
