I thought I was "God's favorite heathen"

I'm not your typical "Church Folk". I had the pleasure of meeting Pastor Calvert one day, and he never struck me as a preacher, let alone a once-upon-a-time pimp, dope-dealer, and now writer. I am an avid reader, librarian and teacher, and even recommended this book to my book club. This book made me laugh, cry, and I'll admit, even pray. I wish that I had the money to buy 1000s of copies to pass this book out to the children I teach that I see heading down the wrong path. Calvert makes his points without sugar-coating them while showing the Biblical significance of each and every action along the way. I'm looking forward to your sequel, Pastor.

Not a regular Reader

I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN! The author takes you on a trip through life experiences that makes you want to go along right up until the very end. I found myself emersed in every descriptive detail of the author's encounters. While I could not identify with the specific issues that occurred in his life, I could identify with the root of his issues because of the transparent and illuminating manner in which this author writes. I was able to gain insight to help me live a truly 'Born Again' life.
