Book 1: Confessions of an Immortal: Between Redemption and the Abyss

By Suzana Matondo

Confessions of an Immortal opens the Code of the Immortals cycle with an intimate, atmosphere-laden narrative, where every word is a thread linking past and future.

In the present, Amarun lives in isolation - his body marked by time, his mind filled with memories he would rather bury. When he agrees to receive a young historian, what begins as a simple interview turns into a confession.
Between glasses of wine and heavy silences, we revisit ancient empires - Thebes, Carthage, Rome, the kingdoms of Mali and Kongo - and witness the birth of loves, betrayals, and broken promises.

But as the narrative unfolds, something unsettling begins to emerge: ancient symbols Amarun recognizes, names that should never be spoken, and memories that do not belong solely to Earth.
Little by little, we realize that this story is not confined to centuries past - it is the echo of a silent war that spans worlds, fought between factions vying for the greatest power of all: immortality.

For Amarun, telling his story is not just about reliving what he has lost.
It is about leaving a warning: the true enemy is not time... it is the one who controls it.
