Magazine. Poetry. Fiction. Literary Nonfiction. Art. BOMBAY GIN is the literary journal of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University, co-founded by Allen Ginsberg and Anne Waldman. Emerging from the "outrider" lineage, which operates outside the cultural mainstream, BOMBAY GIN publishes poetry, prose, and hybrid texts as well as art, translations, interviews, and book reviews. Each issue includes a lecture transcribed from the Naropa Audio Archives, comprised of six thousand hours of tapes documenting classes, performances, workshops, and lectures conducted at Naropa since 1974 by many of the leading figures of the literary avant-garde. Issue 39.1 is dedicated to the "Contemplative as Transgressive" and features work from Reed Bye, Serena Chopra, Rebecca Brown, Anna Joy Springer, CAConrad, Matthew Cooperman, and Chris Martin, as well as an in-depth interview with CAConrad. This issue also includes reviews of books by Andrea Rexilius, Azareen Van Der Vliet Oloomi, and Suzanne Scanlon.
