Thought provoking, life changing!

This book is full of thought provoking material that gets you in touch with the reasons you overeat and ways to face those issues.

A new way of thinking about weight management

This is an amazing book that is so much more than just another diet book. It has revolutionized my thinking altogether about what's important in controlling my weight. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to make lasting changes in their relationship with food. This book will lead you on an insightful journey to discover what lies behind any eating challenges and to find your true authentic self in the process. Dr. Colby has a unique way of turning concepts on their side just enough so that I have been able to gain a completely new awareness of how I want view my life and the world. With words that speak right to my heart, I feel like someone finally really `gets' me. I now believe that I can permanently end my battle with weight using this approach. I've made so many positive changes as a result of the process shared in this book, but most importantly I'm living my life more fully and learning to create the `me' I've always wanted. I purchased this book because I had lost a significant amount of weight and was starting to gain some back. I was looking for help to stop the landslide. With the tools in Body Redesign I'm finally learning to overcome my `struggle' with food and to instead focus on changing my life from the inside out. Rather than focus on what I don't want (the extra weight), I'm learning that if I focus on what I do truly want, the food is so much less important. There is a key section in the book about how to uncover your real reason for wanting to change your body. Discovering my own compelling reason has been particularly helpful in reframing how I think about myself and how I relate to food. The approach shared in this book is a completely different way of thinking about weight loss. If you're like me and you've tried all the others, don't give up yet! I'm so delighted to have found this wonderful resource. The book gives you all the tools you need to change your life. You owe it to yourself to check this out too!!

finally a book that guides you to lose weight

WOW THIS IS COOL! After years of wearing way too many extra pounds a book that actually teaches what to do and better yet how. I have done it all from south beach to atkins and after a while, you just get tired of the battle of the body weight. With diets it's like the binge and purge of pounds, put them on, take them off, while all the time I was punishing the body. It seems like every method out there was either "DO NOTHING AND LOSE WEIGHT" OR "FOLLOW THIS TO THE LETTER AND IT WORKS" Both methods aren't real. Well, finally something real that tells the truth. If you have played the yo-yo weight game and are done READ THIS BOOK. I don't know how to describe it, the book teaches you how to reach inside and make the decision to live life differently so it just happens. I am down fifteen pounds and not worried or watching food because that is no longer my focus - I am my focus and it really feels good and different. I've finally been given the knowledge that supports a positive life affirming change in life.

A Book That Outweighs Being Merely a Guide for Overeating

In today's market, the shelves are lined with so many books to address people's desire to lose weight. Additionally, there are a multitude of programs and supplements and quick fixes that are offered. But none of them compare to what Dr. Annette Colby has presented in Body Redesign. Finally, there is a self-help program that truly gets to the heart of what overeating really is. Rather than helping the reader just shed pounds, Dr. Colby speaks to the real issues of why people overeat. In focusing on the underlying concerns rather than the symptoms, true and lasting change can take place. Not only does she explain the concepts, but she walks the reader through every step of the change process very diligently. Her insightfulness about the process is to be admired since it is quite thorough. As I read through the book, what I found myself thinking was that this was far more than just a book about overeating. First of all, it can easily be applied to any addictive behavior. But it is also quite inspirational. Dr. Colby has a wonderful perspective on life and how one approaches it in order to live more completely and joyfully. The book could have easily been entitled, Life Redesign. Body Redesign has so much to offer in helping people truly live a life of choice!
