Bob is a breath of fresh air

Bob the Angry Flower rules. I wish they would do more with this little pewphead!

A new style of cartooning that is superior to the mainstream

Most cartoons that appear in newspapers are simply 3 or 4 panels that contain a set up then a punch line. Bob is so much more. In the strips the jokes not only come from the punchline, they come from the views underlining the setting and characters in the strip

Wacky. Weird. Wonderful.

The omenous name of the book is completely misleading; this book is nothing about facism - rather, it's a collection of a truely original and refreshing comic strip called "Bob the Angry Flower". Bob, the hero (anti-hero?) of the strip, is a large talking flower, who's experiences range from bizzar to surreal, whether they be battling the "Evil Business Guy made of Butter" or trying to join the circus as a performance artist (the art being the ability to sell anyone a full set encyclopedia plus atlas in ten seconds flat). There's simply no way to predict what will happen in the next panel, except that it will be absurd. As a cartoon fan, I enjoyed this book so much because it was such a breath of fresh air in the predictable and safe world of the syndicated cartoons; the author dares to be funny because at this point, he has nothing to lose, no syndicates to limit his creative world with marketability rules. I certainly hope he will be able to preserve this wonderful weirdness when he breaks out into mass recognition - which he eventually will, because talent like this cannot go unnoticed. I wholeheartedly recommend this book, especially if you want a break from conventionality, predictability and rationality. Adi.
