A good Review

I thought this book was very good. It covers common topics found in family med, like cough, chest pain, nausea ect. Then it goes over the basics of some commonly found illnesses. I like the way it goes over each topic, it gives a lot of detail with out making each section too long. I really like this book.

serves its purpose well

this is a nice book to read during your family med rotation. we didn't have an exam at the end, so this was mainly for my own edification. the chapters are brief enough so that one could get through several in an evening. covers a broad spectrum of problems encountered in a family practice setting.

This book rocks! It covers the most common ailments seen in family medicine and concisely describes the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, differential diagnoses, diagnostic evaluation, and treatment for each one. Studying from this book helps you put everything together before the family medicine shelf exam by giving you all the essential information with 50 sample questions at the end. It's an excellent review and a great reference to have for the clinical years.

Students like myself have found this book useful as a quick and easy reference when in comes to common clinical problems and questions.This book has helped me pinpoint to answers to medical cases discussed in school. It provides essential information and possible causes of common patient compliants.The brief but substantial explanation of the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, differential diagnosis, diagnostic approach, and treatment/management of common diseases gives the student astute understanding of the disorders and diseases found in the book.

Blueprints in Family Medicine

Great resource for both residents and medical students with concise overviews of the most common presenting illnesses seen in general family practice. I used it to study for Step 3, and found it a very high yield reference.
