Enchanting Review: Blue Moon

BLUE MOON (THE IMMORTAL SERIES Book 2) ALYSON NOEL Paranormal YA St. Martin's Griffin Rating: 4.5 Enchantments Ms. Noel picks BLUE MOON up a short time after Evermore leaves off. Ever and Damen are happy together, she's starting to learn more about her mysterious powers and everything looks like its going great, until the new kid at school arrives. Everyone adores Roman, except for Ever. There's something off about him and she can't put her finger on it...until her whole world starts falling apart and Ever finds herself on the outside looking in. BLUE MOON is a great second book in the series. We learn more about Ever; her relationship with her friends; her previous incarnations with Damen and more about the mysterious Summerland, as Ever finds herself spending more time there in order to find a way to save Damen. At Summerland, she meets a pair of mysterious sisters who I'm sure will play an even bigger role in the series going forward. I'm anxious to learn more about these two. While I thought the pacing of the book was sometimes a little slow, the lead up to the ending picks up relatively quickly and puts Ever in a spot no one would expect. Filled with well developed characters, more mysterious clues about where everything is eventually headed and the fact that the ending leaves Ever and Damen's relationship potentially changed forever, BLUE MOON is a book fans of paranormal YA won't want to miss. Ms. Noel is the author of Evermore and seven previous novels for St. Martin's Press. She lives in Laguna Beach, California where she is at work on the next book in the Immortals series. I'm lovin' the immortals!

This is the new series in my life that i count the months for. (Shadowland is out in February!) I seriously enjoy reading these books. The mystery always manages to keep my nose to the page unlike any other books i've read lately. I'd say the only thing that bothers me is that Damen and Ever occasionally seem a little...dumb. I mean, everybody makes mistakes, but... I dunno. I DID love the book, so i guess i shouldn't complain. And i too have noticed a few similarities between Ever and Damen and Bella and Edward, but i have also noticed that these books are extremely original. They have none of the same plot line as Bella and Edward. And when i read blue moon i realized that these books are far different from any books i've ever read...ever. And that's why i love love love them! Alyson Noel knows how to keep you wondering and loving all of her characters, even the ones that act their age and do really stupid things that make you talk out loud to the book in your hands! So, yeah, i loved it. Only seven more months before i can lose myself in Shadowland!

Ever is now an immortal, and she's eager to learn everything - from manifesting objects to visiting the paradise Summerland. Things are looking up for Ever and Damen, who can finally be together. But just as Ever finds her power's growing, Damen's starts to fade. He's becoming weak and he's even starting to forget Ever. Ever travels to Summerland to save Damen, but while there she discovers she might be able to save her family. Ever must choose which path she'll take and who she'll end up saving. I really enjoy sequels, but they make me nervous, especially when I loved the first book as much as I did EVERMORE. But Alyson Noel surpassed all my expectations, and not only is BLUE MOON an amazing sequel - it sets the bar for the rest of this series very, very high! When I reached the last page of this one, all I could say was "wow!" There were numerous twists that kept me guessing. Just when I thought I had things figured out, I would get pulled in a new direction, which kept the book fast-paced and full of suspense - I had to keep turning the pages. I really liked the addition of Roman and the twins Romy and Rayne that Ever meets in Summerland. They added to the story but still have a lot of mystery surrounding them, so I'm eager to see how the many stories that were weaved together in BLUE MOON will play out. Another highly recommended book from Alyson Noel, I can't wait to read more about Ever and Damen. THE IMMORTALS series is one you'll want to get your hands on! BookChick.com Recommends Blue Moon

Blue Moon is the "Empire Strikes Back" in Alyson Noel's "Immortals" series. It's the moral center around which the other two books must pivot. And like the midway point in the original "Star Wars" trilogy, don't expect "Blue Moon" to be about happily ever after. As Luke, Leia and Han did, the characters in this book will face heartbreaking truths and find themselves in mortal peril again and again. (That's saying a lot for an immortal to be in mortal peril.) After learning she had become immortal in "Evermore," main character Ever begins flexing her newly acquired muscles and talents while being taught by the love of her many lives, Damen, in "Blue Moon," which releases in July. The soulmates are finally together forever after 400 hundred tortured years of losing each other, but their happiness doesn't last long. Because the new boy at the high school is clearly casting some sort of spell over all the other students, including Damen, whose powers quickly weaken. As his abilities fade, so does his memory and his interest in Ever. Heartbroken but determined to get to the root of the problem, Ever travels to Summerland to learn how to restore Damen. But when she discovers how to turn back time, she's torn between saving her family and saving her love. Oh and guess what? She's totally a pariah at school and all the other kids hate her, so even though she could theoretically kick any other's teenager's butt her high school life is still filled with major suckitude. But Ever deals and she deals in ways the reader doesn't expect. Once you think you know what Ever will do next, she's headfirst down a new path you never imagined. When Ever travels back in time, you'll desperately wonder how the heck Ever will get out of her predicament. Then Ever winds up creating heaps more trouble for herself and Damen - trouble neither she, Damen nor any reader will ever have expected. And that's all I will say. Except, it is the mark of a daring writer to defy expectations and Alyson Noel does that to the power of ten in "Blue Moon." I guarantee you will have no idea what's coming in the second book of the series while Alyson Noel surprises you with a big, fat twist and leaves you wanting more, more, more.

can't wait to read more.........

I wont lie at the beginning I thought I was reading a different version of another novel I had read that included a very sparkly vampire. Then when Damen got sick and changed towards Ever, I thought it was downhill from there, but then I realized that Ever was not Bella. While Bella was a just a human Ever was anything but. Ever wasn't my favorite charcater but after this book and everything she went through I can' help but feel for her and everything she went through... Ever and Damen want to take their relationship to the next level. I mean the guy has been waiting four hundred years for her , can you blame him!?. As the "special" day approaches a new person enters Bay View High. Roman, every one loves him and think he is charming everyone except for Ever. Ever knows there is something not right about him. When Damen suddenly turns up in school and acts like he doesn't remember ever loving Ever and starts eating like a normal person with no memory of being immortal she knows something is terribly wrong. Then Miles and Haven want nothing to do with her and are suddenly hanging out with the jocks and cheerleaders. Now the clock is ticking for Ever to save Damen from dying and find out if her suspicions about the new guy are real or just plain paranoia. While she save them in time before she runs out of her own elixir? Can she master her powers like Damon was trying to teach her before he blanked? Read Blue Moon to find out. Blue moon (imo) was better than Evermore. I guess because it expanded it's horizons when new circumstances presented themselves. Giving it many options to where it could go. I hate waiting for books to get released but I guess it can't be helped. I really recommend Blue Moon. It gives you a new look at Damon and his past and a look at Ever and her choices. And at the end of the book I asked myself what I would have done and even though it was a bad move on her part, I would have done the same. Sad but true.
