Blue Learns about Islam

By Angelus O'Malley

A peaceful greeting. A welcoming friend. A chance to learn together.

When Sami welcomes Blue the Leprechaun and Auntie into his home, Blue discovers how faith is part of his friend's family life. Sami and his dad introduce Islam, explain their belief in one God, and share why the Qur'an and the teachings of Muhammad are important to Muslims.

Through everyday moments, Blue learns about preparing for prayer and visiting a mosque. During Ramadan, he discovers how the family makes time for prayer, generosity, and helping others-and learns that young children do not have to fast.

When Blue returns for Eid al-Fitr, warm greetings and a place at the table welcome him into the celebration.

With colorful illustrations and gentle explanations, Blue Learns About Islam introduces one Muslim family's beliefs and traditions through friendship, curiosity, and kindness. A welcoming starting point for conversations about faith and caring for others.

For shared reading from babyhood through age six.

Part of Blue Explores Religion, a subseries of The Blue Leprechaun: Little Wonders.
