Named for his father who worked on the Great Lakes ore boats, little Oliver Grin Jr. had a loving early childhood. Even though his father's job kept him away from home months at a time, Oliver's mother doted on her blond blue-eyed son. She even sang songs to him about his "beautiful blue eyes." But when Oliver was five, his brown-eyed brother Ronnie was born. And everything changed.Two more children followed and his once adoring mother now criticized everything Oliver did.
