Salome Violaris-Colman was born in Paphos, on the island of Cyprus. When she was three and a half years old she contracted Encephalitis which left her with speech and mobility impairments. At the age of nine, Salome moved to England where there were better facilities for the disabled. With perseverance and determination she learned how to type and eventually completed a BA degree in Social Sciences and Criminology. This anthology is a collection of Salome's creative work, including autobiographical accounts of her childhood memories, short stories that deal with themes of crime and disability and a series of poems about all the different kinds of love. Salome's writing inside this anthology is underpinned with courage and hope - illustrating how even out of dark and difficult experiences, we can grow blossoms of love.
