An inspiration for all entrepreneurs

This is the book that motivated me to finally take my GMAT and apply to b-school. I find the Bloomberg story to be uplifting, from his darkest days of being out of a job to his shoestring budget method of value creation, I highly recommend this book if you are struggling with management or motivation issues. Plus, let's face it, the guy is brilliant. Bloomberg lays a foundation in this book for the reader to put the him/herself into a mindset conducive to success.

A true picture of an entrepreneur

Bloomberg does not mince workds -- his book is hard-charging, full of ego and energy. It is an easy read, peppered with his strongly held personal opinions and receommendations for the reader. I believe that his style is a representation of his character -- open, honest without excuses. Whenever I thought his ego comes through too strong, I reminded myself that I have spent hundreds hours in from of the Bloomberg terminal in my professional life and that it is an outstanding and ever-changing product. I would highly recommend this book to aspiring entrepreneurs, students of finance and anyone seeking a career in the banking or investing.

Sold!!!

I did not know much about Michael Bloomberg before he became the mayor of NYC and for this reason, I bought and read this book. I came away being impressed, amazed, and intrigued by this multi-layered character who is now inhabiting City Hall. Is the book a tad self-serving and guilty of just a bit of hyperbole? Yes, but, he's the first to admit that he's an egomaniac (at least he's honest about it!!) and I found that entirely refreshing. It's a great tale of the American dream told with unabashed enthusiasm and dry wit. I, for one, think we have exactly the right guy in City Hall!!

MUST READING FOR ANY ASPIRING ENTREPRENEUR

Shows how hard work and hustle, good ideas and risking your own dough still pays off big time in America. Fifteen years ago on Wall Street he was considered by many a joke. Now look at him. He laughs all the way to the bank.

A brilliant management story

This book not only shows how much work has gone into creating a worldwide and successful company, but also gives significant hints on business management. It is enjoyable to read and also manages to transmit to the reader part of the energy of the author
