To stop the torturous symptoms of her relapse, Allie agrees to help Joseph expose and eliminate a group of alien bounty hunters who are currently tracking him down to acquire the very source of his paranormal abilities-the rare mystical crystals surgically grafted to his bones. As the unlikely pair become increasingly entangled in each other's lives, Allie learns about the darker side of humanity and is forced to live two very different lives simultaneously: the mundane, safe existence of working for her sister, and the secret, dangerous one with Joseph, not only risking her own life, but also the lives everyone she knows and loves.
