Blood On His Hands

(Blood On His Hands is graphic and meant for mature audiences.)Jackson Tyler and his partner, Tomio Dubanowski investigate a string of robberies that look like hate crimes against Detroit's gay community. Exhausted, Jack battles ghastly mental intrusions that have nothing to do with these crimes. Is he suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or premonitions? It's not easy to tell the difference between crazy and elsewhere, even for Jack who deals with paranormal disturbances often. Jack clears his head with a walk to Starbucks. Across the street, he sees a tic-affected, mentally disturbed boy. He searches, but does not find him. Back at the shop, Tom organizes a stakeout at the gay bar most likely next on the robber's hit list. Though it's the last thing Jack wants to do, he goes along with it. He actually enjoys the "date" with Tom. Two persons of interest enter the bar, an older man, tattooed like a gay hater, and a young man similar to the one Jack saw earlier. Jack questions the young man, who misinterprets his motives, and Tom investigates the older man with the same results. Before they can fully investigate, they receive a call about an animal mutilation. They race to the scene. Jack now understands that his grisly intrusions are terrifying premonitions. While interviewing folks in the neighborhood, Tom meets another youth resembling the haunted street boy. Coincidences escalate. While processing the mutilation scene, there is a shooting at the bar. They race back. The injury and type of weapon used, match the animal mutilation case. A new call from Dispatch returns them to the peaceful neighborhood for a second animal attack, at the house where Tom met the strange boy. Jack sinks into full-on crazy with a manic replay of the second mutilation crime. Tomio uses drastic measures to end the OCD-driven premonitions before Jack ends up in a straightjacket. The next day, they investigate a simple break and enter. Both get vibes that the animal mutilator was involved, but there is no evidence until Tom receives a call from the victim. Brokenhearted, he realizes that Jack is right, the mutilation cases, the bar shooting and the B&E are related. A serial killer is escalating. That night Jack dreams about another human casualty. In the morning, he and Tom discover that the killer returned to the first house and took human lives. With the precinct on alert, Jack and Tom team up with Chief Inspector Maureen Thompson and her partner, Aurelia Gomez. During the investigation, they see the kid from the bar. They pursue and catch him. Jack's psychic knowledge tells him that he is their man, but there is no hard evidence. The man the press calls The Vampire is released. He murders again. As the case escalates, Jack's desire for Tom awakens. Tom is not ready. Jack stuffs his feelings into a box so he can focus on the crimes. The focus pays off. He finds enough evidence for a warrant to search the suspect's house. The search reveals the awful truth that the boy they released is the Vampire Killer. A search for him proves fruitless, but Jack connects psychically. When his visions entangle with thoughts of loving Tom, he cannot make sense of it and loses confidence. Jack and Maureen, Tom and Aurelia create a sting to catch him. Jack admits to Maureen that he is in love with Tom and it is affecting his ability to do the job. Distracted, Tom admits to himself that he loves Jack. Meanwhile, the killer hides in the apartment where Tom and Aurelia masquerade as a couple, a lure for the sting. When the Vampire strikes, Jack cannot "see" where he is, but when Tom and Aurelia don't answer their phones, Jack and Maureen race to their sting site and arrive to witness the aftermath of the attack. Did Jack get to the scene in time to save the only man he has ever loved?
