A Lower-Case Stephen King with the Michigan Touch

What a great book...The first time I read this novel about a family holiday gathering during a winter storm that turns bloody and horrific I couldn't put it down. The dialogue drives the characters: You'll feel like you know these characters as if they were long, lost friends or family-members - You'll feel their frustrations, happiness, and finally, as sure as the Michigan winters send shivers down your back, you'll feel their horror as well. Lest you think this novel is your typical "family-trapped-together-during-a-blizzard-and-driven-to-overcome-adversity" storyline, think again...Mr. Norton turns this notion upside, sideways and into a laundry shoot with a dark tale of sexual frustrations, hidden family secrets, bestial hunger, and monstrosities we hope never find us in a "Blizzard". I am inspired by Mr. Norton's writing style and hope to emulate it in my own upcoming novels.
