Great Book!

I read this book as a child in the 1960s and loved it then - it was one of my favorites along with Black Beauty (can you tell I love horses?). I came across it again in a box of old stuff, and re-read it, and it brought back all the same feelings as when I was young. A great story about a great horse - any young horse-lover will enjoy it!

This has to be one of the best horse stories I have read! This book is about a horse called Blitz, and it tells the story of his hard life- being abused by a cruel owner. It has a storng plot, and each chapter will keep you interested- I even shed a few tears over this one! Like horse books? Try Blitz, and you won't regret it!

One of the best of the 'Black Beauty' siblings

Okay, you've read Black Beauty and you're thoroughly sick of all horse stories for the rest of your life. Or, you've read 'Misty of Chincoteague' or 'King of the Wind' and you're rearing (pardon the expression) for more. For either case, I recommend this book.Of course it's from the horse point of view, but this is really a wonderful story (predating 'Misty' and possibly 'National Velvet' as well). And of course the horse has the inevitable cruel owner. But I found this a standout among the traditional 'horse abuse' stereotype. Sure, it's a little 'horse' ... but it's good.
